In 1998 the critically acclaimed children's folk music ensemble, Noticky ("Little Notes"), was founded in the Czech town of Revnice in order to share throughout the world the joy and beauty of Czech folk music, especially the native music of Central and South-West Bohemia and of the Chodsko region.

Made up of approximately forty enthusiastic musicians between the ages of three and eighteen, the children receive intensive training in smaller groups which are organized according to age and experience.

The leader of the ensemble is Barbora Kolarova, winner of several international violin competitions including the Enescu International Violin Competition and the Kocian International Violin Competition, and a student at the Pilsen Conservatory and Meadowmount School of Music, U.S.A.

In just a few short years Noticky has achieved wide recognition not only in its own region but also further afield, giving performances on a regular basis and taking part in numerous competitions and festivals throughout the Czech Republic including the Prague Heart of Nations Festival, the Straznice and Luhacovice Festivals, the Tuchlovice Fair as well as at international folklore shows. Noticky has frequently appeared at music festivals in the USA. Moreover, every year Noticky organizes a Music Ball and performs Christmas concerts in Revnice.

Noticky is also invited to accompany contestants in the Czech National Folksong Soloist Festival held annually in the town of Velke Losiny in which Noticky's own soloists have also achieved much success.

Noticky performs regularly on Czech television and radio. They have already released three of their own CDs (RKM 008-2 "Along the Berounka River", RKM 010-2 "Joyful Christmas") + there is a short video available for download, and produced a video of their original story "Why Does the Bagpiper Stomp?" as well as providing the music for the CD of the Czech fairy tale "The Wandering Little Fox".

The Artistic Director of Noticky is Lenka Kolarova, violinist in the Orchestra Puellarum Pragensis and the National Theatre Opera Orchestra and a much sought after teacher of violin. She has also arranged a number of the works performed by Noticky. Other arrangers for the ensemble include Mr. Josef Fiala, Professor at the Pilsen conservatory, and Mr Antonin Pecha, trumpet of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. The Vocal Coach is Ms Jana Sykorova, soloist of the Prague State Opera.
